workshop with a difference
There are other faux finish workshops offered in the United States, but
Donna Mabrey wants hers to be unique. ..and different! One thing that sets
her workshop apart is the unusual setting. In beautiful North Georgia
just outside Atlanta, Donna chose the Cherub Cottage, a charming bed and
breakfast inn, to be the site of her faux finish and business workshops.
Her
students will enjoy the comforts of home, with breakfast and lunch
included, and can share fun and fellowship with other artists every
evening. The workshops will be held in an on-site classroom each day.
What
Donna's week-long workshop offers that is most unique is the focus on
building a really successful business, emphasizing the personal aspects
and priorities in running a faux finish business. Things that Donna has
learned to make her own business so successful for the past ten years will
be included - how to avoid the pitfalls!
In a
non-intimidating atmosphere, Donna will show her students what to do in
the coners, or which finish will work best on large areas. Everyone will
understand each finish they have learned and created in several color
combinations before going on to the next. You will know how to recreate
that finish on a room-sized surface.
The
week will end with a field trip to Dee Keller's showroom in Newnan,
Georgia.
